[Jesper does his best to seem at ease but there's a tension lingering in his countenance as he saunters into the bar.]

Hey. Jesper...[He catches sight of the glasses and takes a seat, immediately taking one in hand.] So. You had questions.

[stupetballs]

Yes. And again, anything that you don't feel comfortable answering, just say so.

[She's not here to trip all over people's trauma, even though she knows what she has to ask about his sensitive.]

Kaz said you were marked. Do you think you could show me? Or draw it for me? Sometimes there's meaning in the symbols.

I haven't seen it myself. Not really.

[ He's very grateful for the whiskey. He has a feeling he'll need it.]

I got some gloves that work with the touch screen. [He sighs a bit.] I think we might be able to replicate it.

Yeah?

[Oh he sounds excited, and more like himself than he has for the last few weeks.]

So, what are we waiting for? Come over--or I can come to you.

Yeah.

[He thinks about it, the line going quiet briefly.]

I'll come over. You have all the gloves anyway.

[triggerguard]

[The line going quiet causes some pause, and a bit of concern.]

Is everything okay?

[kidgloved]

I think Kavinsky is making a pair of gloves for me as well.

[Another pause.]

I'm worried about it. Not because I don't appreciate the gesture but I don't know what it'll cost me. He said that I don't have anything he wants but the yet was unstated.

You know he's trouble.

[Not that Jesper can or should talk. He got tangled up with Kavinsky first.]

As long as he doesn't know your penchant for explosives or the fact you're learning magic, you should be all right.

I know he is, which is why I'm worried.

[He groans a little bit.]

I sure hope so. I'll be by soon, I just thought someone should know.

[Though he figures Kaz knows just by listening in to the conversations.]

You mean besides Kaz, with the eyes and ears he definitely has everywhere by now?

[You can absolutely hear the grin in his voice.]

Listen, the more you worry about it, the more of a problem it will be. Just get over here and we'll see what I can figure out about those gloves...How likely is it that we'll have to give them back?

Yes, besides Kaz.

[He kinds of smiles to himself.]

All right, all right. I'll try not to worry about it. [He laughs lightly.] I'm packing up now.

Don't keep me waiting, sweetheart.

[Is that a teasing timbre to his voice? Maybe.]

[It doesn't take him long to arrive at Jesper's suite, opening the door and waltzing inside as if he lives there. He smiles when he spies him, and holds up the gloves, waving them at him.]

Do you think you'll be able to replicate them? [He asks as he crosses the room to greet him.] I'm sure Kaz will be glad if we're able to.

[Not that Kaz would say it, not that Wylan knows his reasons for not wanting to remove his gloves, but he has a feeling it would at least be some relief.]

[triggerguard]

You haven't even handed them to me yet. [Jesper laughs, hand out for the gloves in question.]

But...probably? It depends on what's in them...how easy it is for me to pick up on. If it's something I haven't worked with before it might take more time...

[Or it'd be impossible, but he wasn't going to say that.]

[kidgloved]

O-oh. Right. [He flushes a bit as he hands over the gloves.] I'm sure we have plenty of time to get it right. [He smiles at him.]

You really get impatient when you're excited about something. [A teasing tone laces that comment, which is followed by a rather wide grin.]

Give me a minute. [He moves back towards his room before practically flopping onto his bed as he turns the gloves over in his hands. He looks at ease, but anyone that knew him could tell he's concentrating.]

[kidgloved]

I do not. [He flushes more.

He crosses the room, following him before he sits on the edge of the bed, watching Jesper curiously.]

What do you think about them so far?

[triggerguard]

Oh, you definitely do. [The comment comes out, entirely suggestive down to the smirk that settles into place. He takes one of the gloves and puts on one of the gloves to get a feel for the materials.]

...There's metal in here...not a lot. [He frowns pressing his fingers together, one gloved one not. It takes a moment but when he pulls them apart a thin thread follows.] There we go.

[He wants to argue, he nearly does the words dying on his tongue as he decides it's not worth it.

For now he just watches, curious to see what Jesper can actually do. He wasn't one to really use his Grisha powers, but it was fascinating watching him work. It was nice to watch him work.]

Yeah? [He perks up a bit.] So how does the metal work with the gloves, I wonder?

[triggerguard]

[He slips off the one glove he had pulled the threading from and turns the delicate strand over and over again.] It's metal...Conducts heat, electricity...Energy. It's concentrated in the pads of the gloves.

[He frowns, knowing he's close on puzzling out that purpose just for understanding the use of metals the way he does.] The metal is the only thing...off about these. The only thing that's really different.

So that has to be it. It's a bit thin, a thread really. Zinc...maybe copper?

[ He’s waking you up, Sir, bright and early—answer your phone!]

Oh. You’re not dead. I told you he’d like it.

[This is payback, cosmic and perfectly timed. He rolls over with a groan, trying his best not to disturb Wylan in the process, and answers with a grumble.]

Noah...Not exactly how I'd put that, but I'm alive.

Good. Glad you’re alive. So. What was the mood? Was he mad? Annoyed? Turned on? I just want to know what I’m walking in on this morning.

We didn't talk it all out, so you'll be dealing with whatever frustration he has from that. [And that's all he's giving you at this hour Noah. If Kaz wants to go into detail, he will.] But not mad.

...I owe you. For waking you up. [He is not calling this early wake-up call even.]
