Speech to text and text to speech. The technology is amazing.

So what does that do for you, exactly?

It allows me send messages without having to actually write them out. A voice can read the text on the screen to me so I don't have to worry about struggling to read them.

Basically it allows me to interact with everyone using the same technology but in a more accessible way.

Smart. [But then, that's Wylan for you. Of course, he managed to find a way around the communication here already.]

Circling back though. Dragons. Please tell me you didn't decide to pick one up.

No, I didn't decide to adopt a dragon. Noah did though and I think I was supposed to stop him.

As long as you didn't go getting one of your own. I'm not ready to be a parent. [Because he has to tease, and that was too wide an opening to not take it.]

I think Noah's friends can deal. He strikes me as someone that just...does what he wants and deals with the consequences later.

Yeah, he's not too bad. Almost got off on the wrong foot, but he's pretty relaxed about things.

[He pauses before he answers Jesper's question first.]

We met on the boat. I was getting sea sick and he helped distract me from it.

[There's a pause. Jesper's weighing just how much of the truth he's willing to elaborate with here.]

Had a run-in with one of his friends--boyfriend? I didn't realize they knew one another or anything.

[He pauses. Before he sighs a little.]

[He sighs, and again weighs the matter of truth.]

Might have got a bit...hands-on with getting to know Kavinsky.

[He goes silent, trying his best to breathe.]

[There's a groan, muffled as he runs his hands down his face. This was not how he thought this conversation would come up.]

I had just got here. I didn't know--[That he was here? That they apparently had more history than he was aware of? That this would become this much of a mess?] I didn't know.

You didn't know what.

[Which part? If time was weird...was it possible that Jesper was from a time before they got together?

Oh Saints that was it wasn't it?]

[Jesper isn't sure if doing this now is better or worse than if they had the chance to have the conversation face to face. He knows Wylan's upset, it's evident in his voice--at least this way he doesn't have to deal with seeing the face that matches that emotion.]

That you were here, for one. That we--that there was a "we" to consider for another.

[He breathes, and there's a clink of metal in the background noise. He's fiddling with his guns, nervous energy needing something as an outlet.]

[He's silent, inhaling deeply. This was the part he was afraid of and after he was affectionate with him. They weren't together yet where Jesper is from, which meant... a lot of things actually. He takes a deep breath, inhaling slowly before he finally finds his courage to speak.]

What is the last thing you remember?

[It's quiet, nervous, his voice shaking as he speaks. He probably doesn't need to know this but if he doesn't know he's certain he'll just keep holding this against Jesper.

Jesper didn't know... so when did he find out?]

[This is a turning point, he can feel it. It's that electric feeling before a storm, where you feel it in the very air if you focus. Jesper doesn't like it one bit, because he doesn't know where this is going to go.]

Sitting at a piano, with a boy I thought was you.

[That finally puts how he reacted to you and your stupid face the first time, doesn't it? There's another heavy sigh. Wylan's owed answers, but that doesn't mean Jesper has to like the line of questioning.]

I started putting it together after we met up, but Noah confirmed it...Guess you mentioned me to him, huh?

With Kuwei. So we haven't.... okay.[That would explain his reaction to seeing him when they first ran into each other. That was just... great.]

I did. [He pauses, wondering what Noah actually said to Jesper, but he doesn't pry.] You came up while Noah and I were talking on the boat.

Yeah, I really don't know how that turns out. [Except that it, apparently, had gone in his favor. Barely ten minutes into Hell and he had fucked that up unknowingly. What luck.] You know, if you want to clear that up at all.

Any particular reason I came up with Noah, or was this just a casual conversation deal?
