[Thirty minutes is more than enough time for Jesper to make sure he doesn't look like he's bordering on death again. Oddly enough, dying in Hell takes a lot out of a person--and the nightmares that came with it did his usually abysmal sleep schedule no favors.
When he slides into a seat across from her though, he wears his usual sense of casual ease, a welcome grin firmly in place.]
[Months had passed and Bela still had nightmares about her time in the hospital. Last month had only added to those nightmares, but she had people to reach out to when things got really bad. Even if she felt like a burden sometimes.
Bela greets him with a warm smile when he takes a seat, pleased to see Jesper looking like himself again.]

Sounds good to me. [Bela nods, knowing that she'd need a few drinks before she shares anything too personal and dark.]
I'm from Earth, the year is 2008 and I suppose you could say my world is modern. The technology might be a little behind whatever Hell has, but I've got a handle on it. I'm used to the existence of supernatural creatures - demons, ghosts and so on. Oh, and there's magic too.

As for me personally, I'm a professional thief for hire. Specializing in the procurement of occult objects.

Ketterdam, by the way--technically Cofton in Novyi Zem if we're talking origins. Earth seems to be where a lot of us are from, though the versions seem different. Ghosts and demons aren't really much of a thing, but magic...We consider it more of a science.

[If he wants to elaborate, she’ll happily listen. If not, then Bela will remain intrigued and come to her own conclusions about what he meant by that.]
Maybe I'll run into him at some point. Unless he's the kind of person that keeps to himself and doesn’t mingle that much. Failing that, perhaps you could introduce us.
Well...[He grins, finishing off his drink and waving down the barkeep for another round.] I can definitely answer questions. It mostly comes down to us having systems for things though.
As for Kaz, trust me: He'll find his way to you. [If she proved useful or had information Kaz wanted anyway.] And if he doesn't--I can facilitate. Anyone that knows me ends up meeting my friends from home at some point.
Must be nice, having your friends from home. [She comments, taking a sip from her glass. Bela isn't quite done with her first. ] But you should definitely facilitate a meeting if I don't run into him before then. Perhaps over drinks.

So, what kind of card game do you want to play? I'll defer to you, since you're the one who has provided the deck.
It has its perks. [Like being able to rely on them for one, and knowing where they are--how they are--for another.] If you're wanting to meet Kaz, [Saints bless her.] I can definitely arrange something.
[The mention of a game, though, has him grinning and pulling out the cards for a shuffle.] I'd suggest Three Man Bramble, but it's a bit tricky to explain and we'd need a few more players. But we have options--Gin Rummy, Blackjack, Poker. Pick your poison, I've had a hand at most card games that can be played for a bit of scratch.
Oh, I like that I've been given options, Jesper. [She grins at him before considering the choices.] Think I'll go for Blackjack first and then see where we go from there.
[Depending on how long he was willing to stay in her company, they could probably get through a few rounds of her chosen game or indeed another one. ]
[Jesper just chuckles and finishes his shuffle. With a flourish, he deals the cards, keeping one of his own close to his chest and flipping an eight of hearts up on the table.] So...hit, stand, or fold?
[Of course he has a flair when dealing the cards. Maybe he could teach her that as well. She glances down at the card that is revealed before looking back at him.] I will go with hit. Let's see what happens.
